SIPERNAT® D 10 / SIPERNAT® D 13* / SIPERNAT® D 17
Hydrophobic SIPERNAT® specialty silica allows for the convenient manufacture of effective defoamer and/or foam inhibitors. SIPERNAT® D 10, SIPERNAT® D 13*, and SIPERNAT® D 17 offer the optimal particle size for many industrial defoamer/deaerator applications.

AEROSIL® R 202 / AEROSIL® R 812 / AEROSIL® R 812 S / AEROSIL® R 972 / AEROSIL® R 974 / AEROSIL® R 816
Hydrophobic AEROSIL® fumed silica allow for the convenient manufacture of effective defoamer and/or foam inhibitors. They have the optimal particle size for many industrial defoamer/deaerator applications. Due to their adjusted hydrophobicity AEROSIL® R 972, AEROSIL® R 974 and AEROSIL® R 816 are particularly compatible in various coating applications.

Defoamer Booster - Hydrophilic
SIPERNAT® 35* / SIPERNAT® 383 DS
The hydrophilic silica grades SIPERNAT® 35* and SIPERNAT® 383 DS are ideally suited for in-situ hydrophobization in mineral and/or silicone oil and dry roast hydrophobization. Due to the particle nature, alkaline catalysts are not needed for this reaction. SIPERNAT® 35* and SIPERNAT® 383DS are pre-milled for easy processing and optimal defoamer performance. SIPERNAT® 320 DS
SIPERNAT® 320 DS has a good reactivity with silicone oil when manufacturing hydrophobic booster silica for defoamer. However, a catalyst is needed for optimal hydrophobization results. SIPERNAT® 320 DS is already pre-milled for optimal defoamer performance.
Carrier for Powder Defoamer
SIPERNAT® specialty silica is often used as carrier substance for powder defoamers, e.g. for the construction industry, powder detergents and oilfield applications. Liquid, semisolid, or paste-like defoamer formulations can be converted into powder form by means of SIPERNAT® specialty silica allowing for a more precise dosing and homogeneous distribution.

Hydrophilic and hydrophobic AEROSIL® grades are used as viscosity modifier of oily liquids, like mineral-, silicone-, and vegetable oil. Especially in combination with SIPERNAT® D 10 their thixotropic properties are pronounced.
